Osler in the 19th Century and with the support of the academic world given by the Flexner report at the beginning of the 20 th Century, the Oslerian paradigm remains behind medical practice all over the western world. $e doctor is focused on diagnosing scienti"cally described nosological entities (diseases) and act as therapeutic agent to cure them or to alleviate their symptoms. Based on this paradigm, the hospital doctor, a specialist with advanced scienti"c-medical knowledge and highly equipped to successfully treat patients, has been recognised as the ideal model by the medical profession and by society.
