Postgraduate Specialist Training The criteria used at the postgraduate specialist admission exam (MIR exam) should be modified The specialist training curricula should be adapted to social needs New methods should be used for formative and summative assessment The objectives of the “hidden curriculum” should be made explicit and assessed The real need to create new training programmes to cover new required skills should be considered A more flexible and stratified model to reverse present fragmentation trend should be developed.
