63_ CODE OF MEDICAL DEONTOLOGY - XV SEXUALITY AND REPRODUCTION Article 61.1 The human being is an end in itself in all phases of the biological cycle, from conception to death. It is an ethical duty to respect and protect the conceived and unborn. Article 61.2 Among the obligations that a doctor has in terms of health education and prevention includes informing about the advantages derived from responsible procreation and safe sexual practices in terms of the prevention of diseases and unwanted pregnancies. Article 61.3 A doctor is responsible for giving appropriate medical advice to a patient with a disease or necessary treatment that discourages pregnancy. If, after having all the information, a woman freely and voluntarily assumes the risk of continuing the pregnancy, it is the duty of the doctor to provide her with health care at all times, respecting her decision. 15
