XVIII 71_ CODE OF MEDICAL DEONTOLOGY - DEALING WITH VIOLENCE, TORTURE, HARASSMENT AND DEPRIVATION OF PERSON’S FREEDOM Article 72.1 Violence threatens people's health, dignity and well-being, and is a serious public health problem due to its high morbidity and mortality. Doctors have the duty to address it in their daily practice and to collaborate actively to make its eradication possible. Article 72.2 Violence is always reprehensible, regardless of its form and the environment in which it occurs, and it is especially serious when it affects vulnerable people. In these cases, it adopts peculiarities that a doctor must know, prevent, diagnose and treat. These behaviors should not be silenced, and a doctor has the duty to report them. 18
