Article 71.70 _70 CODE OF MEDICAL DEONTOLOGY - Research with human beings should only be carried out when scientific progress is not possible by other means of comparable efficacy or in those phases of the research in which it is essential. Article 71.2 It is contrary to Medical Ethics for a doctor to participate in a research project that includes human beings and that has not been previously approved by a Research Ethics Committee. Article 71.3 The production or manipulation of embryos with the aim of dedicating them to research is contrary to Medical Ethics. Cell reprogramming and nuclear transfer or other related techniques are only acceptable if they comply with the ethical principles contained in this Code. Article 71.4 The conservation of pluripotent cells or umbilical cord blood requires providing, in advance, complete information on possible present and future practices with said biological material.
